Advertising is a key component of any business, and the McCloud River Lumber Company was no exception. In addition to the usualy advertisements in trade publications, the company employed several other methods, including distributing yearly pocket calendars in the 1920s and 1930s, small postcard sized doors in the late 1910s, and a series of postcards, shipping placards, and special publications. McCloud River Lumber Company iteself handled much of the earlier advertising, with later efforts coordinated mainly through the parent organization's Shevlin Pine Sales.
