What is almost certain to be the last use of a steam locomotive on the McCloud railroads happened over the weekend of 1-2 November 2008. The #25 operated both days with two dinner train cars and a passenger flat. The Shasta-Cascade Rail Preservation Society of Redding sponsored the trip on the 1st while the Pacific Locomotive Association sponsored the trip on the 2nd.
