McCloud River Railroad Loading #18 for Butte |
|
As noted on the News section of this website, the former McCloud River #18 got trucked from its current home on the Virginia & Truckee Railroad in western Nevada to Butte, Montana, in the fall of 2024 for use in filming "1923", a spinoff of the highly successful "Yellowstone" franchise. Matt Simons was on hand to help load the #18 onto trucks at the Eastgate depot. All photos are by Matt unless noted. |

The following day I passed the #18's tender on Interstate 80 near Humboldt, Nevada, a family member riding with me got this photo. Several weeks later I passed the #18 again on Highway 95 north
of McDermitt, Nevada, but I could not get turned around in enough time to catch up with the locomotive to get some pictures.
