McCloud River Railroad Charles Givens 1955 Gold Spike Special Scrapbook |

While processing the Charles Givens collection, the Pacific Northwest Railroad Archive found a scrapbook of newsclippings and other items related to the 1955 Gold Spike Special celebrating the completion of the new Burney extension. Some items included in the scrapbook suggest Jack Gibson, a noted railfan from the Northwest, may have originally compiled most if not all of what is included. The scrapbook provides a fascinating look back at this era in the railroad's history and what it represented at the time. |
