Maintenance Flat #822

The #822 serving as a boom car to one of the McCloud's Burro cranes. Photo taken 17 September 1982 by Jimmy Bryant and is courtesy of Nevada Historical Society.

Jerry Lamper caught the #822 on film around 1984/1985 with an interesting load...the boiler and cab of Great Western Railway Museum's Baldwin 2-6-6-2 #38, which was being moved to McCloud from its former storage site at Crane Creek reload, on the north end of ITT Rayonier's logging railroad north of Grays Harbor, WA. The #38 started life as Weyerhaeuser Timber Company's #4 on their logging railroad out of Klamath Falls, OR; it later served on the Sierra Railroad before going to Rayonier.

Roger Titus caught the #822 with a load of logs at Ash Creek Junction in the mid- to late- 1990s. The car has been re-lettered for the McCloud Railway by application of peel and stick numbers and letters, which was used by the new owners to mark the change in ownership on some equipment following the sale.
