Along The Line:
Bartle Wye

Approaching Bartle Wye from the west in 1982. The Bartle Branch, later Lookout Line, continued straight ahead while the Pondosa and then Burney branch swung off to the right. The railroad demolished the section shed not long after the date of this photo. John A. Dixon photo, Jeff Moore collection.

#37 bringing four boxcars down from storage at Car A passing the switch to the east leg of the wye in June 2006. Jeff Moore.

The switch where the two legs of the wye come together. McCloud Railway really only used the wye to turn the dinner train before it stopped going east of McCloud, and as such had no reason to repair the damage inflicted by a wing of the Jordan spreader when an operator didn't quite get it lifted quick enough to clear the switch while plowing snow on winter.
