Along The Line:
Arkrite

The railroad faced a short stretch of four percent grade climbing up out of the Pit River Canyon starting immediately on the south side of the Lake Britton bridge. At the top of the grade the railroad broke out onto Arkright Flats and one of the longest straight stretches anywhere on the railroad. The Arkrite station was located in the middle of this tangent, some distance beyond the grade crossing in the middle of the photo at the bottom of the dip. John A.
